Survivor: Korea is the eighth season of the Survivor Wiki's Online Reality Game (ORG), Survivor: Wikia!
Korea was plagued by a slow pace, it is remembered for introducing some of the biggest characters to the ORG Wiki, for better or for worse. One castaway, called one of the biggest villains of the era, helped control the entire season until a stunning late game blindside took him out of the game. This allowed an under the radar strategist to control the endgame and become the Sole Survivor, capping off an important early era season.
39 days, 21 people, 1 SURVIVOR!
Twists
- Artifacts - In this season, items called Artifacts are in play. These Artifacts affect voting in Tribal Council, all of which are effective until there are only five castaways remaining.
- Mask of Restrict - This Artifact makes the user prohibit a castaway from voting in a single vote, and it is played before the vote.
- Rings of Duality - This Artifact makes the user enable a castaway (including itself) to vote twice in one vote, and it is played before the vote. If someone was targeted by both the Mask and the Rings (regardless of how many used) during a single vote, both effects are negated and the target would vote normally.
- Hidden Immunity Idol - This Artifact negates all votes of the user in a single vote. Clue would be given to each tribe to get their own Hidden Immunity Idol, and is played during the vote.
- Half of an idol - During the Merge phase, a new idol clue would be given, where this idol would be made up of two halves, each being usable separately, with only one half be able to negate one vote while using both halves would negate all votes.
- Dark Pearl - This Artifact penalizes the holder one vote on the next Tribal Council the castaway is not immune. After the penalty takes effect, it would be taken from the holder. Could be negated by Hidden Immunity Idol or the Light Pearl, and cannot be passed to others.
- Light Pearl - This Artifact negates one vote the holder receives in the next Tribal Council they would get vote(s) against. After the negation takes effect, it would be taken from the holder. Effect is stacked with Hidden Immunity Idol (i.e. it would be counted as used even if the Light Pearl holder used an idol) and it cannot be passed to others.
- Auction-only Artifacts - During the Survivor Auction, pseudo-Artifacts (not officially called Artifacts) are given that affects gameplay other than voting.
- Medallion of Power - This Artifact enables any castaway to gain a 15% advantage on any challenge before the Final 5.
- Medallion of Incompetence - This Artifact penalizes any castaway to have a 15% disadvantage on any challenge before the Final 5.
- Glasses of Verity - This Artifact enables you to do one of the following:
1. The ability to see the vote tally (and who received those votes) of 2 private Tribal Councils (includes info if an idol was used or not).
2. The ability to see who the castaways (up to 3) voted against in a single private Tribal Council (includes info if a Mask/Rings was used or not).
This power cannot be passed and must be used 24 hours since receiving it.
- One World, No Tribes - During Day 1, castaways are not put in tribes, and are encouraged to converse with all of the other castaways in the game. After the first Reward Challenge, all castaways would be assigned on different tribe camps.
- Three Tribes - Just like in Survivor: Hawaii, there are going to be three original tribes this season.
- Tribe Swap - When 18 castaways are left, there would be a Tribe Swap, redistributing the castaways on the three different tribes.
- Tribe Absorption - When 14 castaways are left, there would be a Tribe Absorption, distributing the castaways of a tribe to the other two tribes, dissolving the tribe in the process.
- Double Elimination - During the season, Double Eliminations are going to be held in different parts of the season:
- On Day 17, one tribe would be immune and a castaway from each of the non-immune tribes would be voted out in Tribal Council.
- On Day 25, both tribes would go to Tribal Council, where a castaway from each tribe would also have Individual Immunity.
- On Day 33, the Merged tribe would have to vote someone else again out of the game after they have voted a castaway out, where an Impromptu Immunity Challenge would be held before they start voting again.
Changes
- Tribal Council Format - In this season, pre-Merge Tribal Council would be held in each of the private groups assigned to each tribe, in which the questions would be given to them there (where they could answer it there) and also the voting results (which they are prohibited to snapshot/video any part of it). Also, in this season Tribal Council would be separated in two phases (Discussion Phase and Voting Phase) to allow time for castaways to make solid decisions before allowing to vote. Both phases lasts for 15 hours each. The privacy enables to preserve the solemnity and integrity of Tribal Council.
- Challenge Submissions - This season allows castaways to submit their challenges maximum of 3 times, with their latest submission being their official submission. They may, however lock-in their 1st or 2nd submission to make it their last submission.
- Day Labeling - The threads are now labeled with their "virtual day" to make organizing confessionals and tracking activities easier.
- Immunity for Active Tribe Members - In order to promote activity in the season, if a tribe goes to Tribal Council after losing an Immunity Challenge and half or more of its members concerned during the challenge didn't submit anything during the challenge (even a low scored one), the ones who did submit would be given Individual Immunity (non-transferable).
- Tiebreaker - During a Purple Rock tiebreaker, the ones that are tied are also subject to the tiebreaker and therefore could still be eliminated. Also, a Tiebreaker Challenge would also be used when there are 4 castaways eligible to vote during Tribal Council (regardless if it is Final Four or not) and there is a deadlocked vote.
