MattFenn87, also known as "Matthew", is a contestant on Survivor: Anarchy and Survivor: Salvation.

Remembered for being a surprise early boot, Matthew has proven to be a strategist with a charismatic demeanor. His biggest downfall was when he threw himself under the bus by submitting a high challenge score immediately after agreeing with his American allies to throw the second immunity challenge; attempting to prove his point to the international players that he can be a trusted savior.

Survivor: Anarchy[]

Matthew was one along with nineteen others to find himself without a tribe to begin the game, due to the seasons main anarchy twist: no tribes. Within the first three days he made a number of social interactions, including an icebreaker with all his fellow "anarchists" but intentionally did not want to be the player to start any alliances. Matthew wanted the alliances to come to him. Matthew's plan worked when Jonathan approached him about forming an alliance. Without giving any prior knowledge to Matthew, Jonathan forced Matthew in an alliance that included himself and Jonathan, plus Jamie, Jerby, Jordan and Lawrence. This alliance would be named the Fil-Am Alliance (3 Filipinos, 3 Americans). Matthew did not like the idea of how this alliance was formed and feared a super alliance was formed against all Americans. Matthew kept the thought to himself because if his fear was not true he did not want to bring the idea up to anyone about "America vs. The World." Matthew made a smaller separate alliance with Jamie and Jordan in case the Filipinos were to turn on the American half of the alliance. Matthew's worst fear became a reality when Sam approached all the Americans to form a super alliance against all the international players. Matthew was left with no choice but to join.

Matthew lost the first immunity challenge that put himself going to tribal council with a majority of his fellow American allies. Matthew along with Jordan were forced to vote with the Americans and voted out their Filipino ally, Lawrence. With the elimination of Lawrence, the Fil-Am alliance was dead, however Matthew, Jamie and Jordan stuck together. Matthew quickly gained Jonathan's trust back, but he lost Jerby's trust for good.

On Day 4, Matthew was put on a team for the immunity challenge that consisted of a majority of Americans. The other Americans were up to throwing the challenge to vote out another international player. Disgusted with his allies for wanting to throw the challenge, Matthew went to inform two international players, Agustin and Richie whom they had started a close bond with each other in the first three days of the game. Richie was to inform the internationals on his team to throw the challenge, but it wasn't enough. Matthew's team lost. Matthew needed to act as if he was throwing the challenge, but little did he know individual scores would be revealed and Matthew had a significantly higher score than the rest of his American allies. As the American's celebrated the anticipation of another international player going home. The consensus was that Ahad would be getting voted out. To Matthew's surprise, not a single player discussed splitting the vote in case of a situation where a hidden immunity idol would be played. Matthew would then organize a split vote. Matthew, Tyler, Noah and Nokomis would vote for Ahad. Blake, Jordan and Canadian ally to the Americans, Ryan Quanz would vote for Patryk. Ahad showed Matthew and many other Americans what was to be a fake hidden immunity idol. Matthew wanted to keep the vote split regardless, in case Ahad was to find a real hidden immunity idol. Matthew was unsure about where Quanz loyalties stood. Matthew waited for everyone to vote by a certain time. Matthew told the Americans and Quanz that he had voted Ahad, when in all actuality he had not voted yet because Quanz never confirmed his vote. A few hours later Quanz confirmed that he had voted for Ahad, going against Matthew's and the American's wishes. Matthew immediately voted Patryk to keep the vote split. Matthew only informed Jamie and Jordan about him voting for Patryk. Although Matthew was in favor of seeing an American going home except for Jordan, he did not know whether the International League was with him or against him due to voting for Lawrence in the first Tribal Council. Matthew feared the possibility of being "idoled" out, forcing him to keep the vote split. At Tribal Council, Ahad used a real hidden immunity idol on himself, resulting in a re-vote between Patryk and Nokomis. Matthew and the American's would go on to vote out Patryk.

Due to the two moves Matthew made, not throwing the challenge and manipulating the second tribal council vote, American's Drew and Tyler were feeling unsure about Matthew. Matthew was informed by Agustin, Jamie and Jordan that he was seen as a major threat in the game. Agustin quoted others saying that "Matthew is the mastermind of this whole game!" This made Matthew aware that he may not have much time left in this game. On Day 8, Matthew would remain loyal to the Americans and vote out the former inactive player Corey.

On Day 10 Matthew would go to his fourth straight tribal council. Anticipating a 4-4 tie between Americans and Internationals. Matthew was going to Tribal Council with Tyler, a player known to him that he was being targeted by. Matthew did not think Tyler would flip so early in the game and by being under the current circumstances. Matthew did not fear being voted out, however he did not want to draw rocks. Matthew asked Agustin (whom would be receiving the American's vote) to vote for him and to tell the other international players to do the same. This scenario would leave Matthew and Agustin to both be immune from drawing rocks. Little would Matthew know, he would be receiving votes regardless if he asked for them or not, including a vote from Tyler. Due to a successful organized plot by Drew and Tyler, who teamed up with Jerby would go on to manipulate the results of the immunity challenge. They were able to make a sales pitch to the internationals going to Tribal Council on a deal that would send an American home. Matthew was blindsided in a 5-4 vote becoming the 4th person voted out of the game.
